Vegan Nutella

When I first went vegan back in February, I was looking for some awesome cheat day recipes and I came across this awesome recipe for vegan Nutella. It tastes just like actual Nutella and is so nice that I make it every now and then as a treat.


  • 1 cup of roasted hazelnuts
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Optional Extras

  • 1 tbsp Orange extract (for chocolate orange)
  • 1/2 tbsp Peppermint extract (for mint chocolate)

This is so simple to make, there isn’t really a method! Just put all the ingredients into a blender and whiz! (hand blender with a big protein cup are my tools of choice) Add the optional flavourings for extra taste, don’t over do the peppermint though or it may taste of toothpaste.

Once you have whizzed the ingredients into a smooth-ish consistency, put the spread you have made into a container (Old Nutella Jar?) and stick it in the fridge to cool. This will thicken the spread.


Serving suggestion: Cut a bagel in half, one side peanut butter the other your Nutella for a Snickers combo!
